- Verify a Frontmedia reporter or employee
- Identify legitimate Press IDs
- Report misuse or fake press identity
- Understand QR code verification
- Protect both the public and law enforcement from fraud
This policy applies globally in all regions where Frontmedia operates, including: India and any future international bureaus.
1. PURPOSE OF PRESS VERIFICATION
The purpose of this policy is to:
- Prevent misuse of Press IDs
- Help police and security agencies verify journalists instantly
- Ensure only authorized Frontmedia employees access restricted areas
- Protect genuine media professionals
- Enhance credibility and public trust
2. OFFICIAL FRONTMEDIA PRESS IDENTITY SYSTEM
Frontmedia uses a digital verification system consisting of:
2.1 Digital Press ID Card
Issued only to:
- Reporters
- Cameramen
- Editors
- Anchors
- Video editors
- Official staff involved in field operations
Each card contains:
- Employee name
- Press ID number
- Role / department
- Photo with watermark
- Validity dates
- Unique QR code
2.2 QR Code Verification
Every Press ID contains a secure QR code that leads to the official verification page:
https://frontmedia.in/profile/{ID}
The profile page displays:
- Full name
- Verified badge
- Press ID
- Validity status
- Role & department
- Assignment region
- Profile photo
- Verification timestamp
This QR code cannot be duplicated, shared, or forged.
If the ID is expired, revoked, or invalid, the verification page will clearly display a warning.
3. HOW TO VERIFY A FRONTMEDIA JOURNALIST
Step 1 — Scan the QR Code
Use any mobile camera or QR scanner app.
Step 2 — Open the official verification page
Ensure the URL begins with:
https://frontmedia.in/profile/
(Frontmedia never uses shortened or third-party verification links.)
Step 3 — Check the information
Confirm:
- Name matches the person
- Photo matches physical identity
- Press ID number
- Role (Reporter, Cameraman, etc.)
- Validity dates
- Status: Active / Expired / Revoked
Step 4 — Check for the Verified Badge
A green Verified badge indicates official employment.
If the badge is missing → the ID is not valid.
4. WHAT TO DO IF THE ID APPEARS FAKE
If the QR code:
- Does not work
- Leads to a suspicious website
- Does not match the person
- Shows “Expired” or “Revoked”
- Shows any warnings
You must consider the ID invalid.

5. WHO IS AUTHORIZED TO USE PRESS IDENTITY
ONLY verified Frontmedia employees with active assignments may use Press IDs.
Unauthorized usage—including freelancers, former employees, or external agents—is prohibited.
Misuse includes:
- Entering restricted zones without authorization
- Using PRESS stickers on vehicles without approval
- Claiming to represent Frontmedia without employment
- Presenting expired or fabricated IDs
Violations may result in:
- Immediate ID revocation
- Employment termination
- Legal action
- Police complaint
6. EXPIRATION & RENEWAL
Press ID validity:
- Generally issued for 1–2 years
- Renewal requires HR approval
- Expired IDs automatically deactivate in the system
An expired ID will show:
🔴 EXPIRED — Not Valid for Press Access
The holder must contact HR to renew credentials.
7. DATA PROTECTION & PRIVACY
QR verification pages show only limited public information necessary to confirm identity.
Sensitive internal data such as:
- Phone numbers
- Documents
- Addresses
- Internal assignments
…is never displayed publicly, unless required by law enforcement via secure channels.
Frontmedia complies with: India DPDP Act 2023
8. VEHICLE PRESS STICKERS
Frontmedia allows vehicle press stickers only for authorized field staff.
Rules:
- Must include a secure QR code
- Must match the employee’s profile
- Use without permission is prohibited
- Misuse leads to legal action and reporting to police
Unauthorized PRESS stickers are illegal and treated as identity fraud.
9. RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOURNALISTS
All Frontmedia staff must:
- Display their ID when required
- Cooperate with police verification
- Follow local regulations and safety protocols
- Never allow another person to use their Press ID
- Immediately report lost or stolen cards
Lost cards must be reported within 24 hours.
10. LAW ENFORCEMENT COOPERATION
Frontmedia works closely with:
- Police departments
- Government agencies
- Election Commission
- Airport & transport authorities
- Event security teams
to ensure safe and accurate press identification.
We respond promptly to any verification request.
11. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Press Verification Policy periodically.
